2022 Honda CR-V
The CR-V has been part of the Honda lineup for years, boasting high-end features and a reasonable starting price tag. Check out what's new and improved on this small SUV for the 2022 model year.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2022 Honda CR-V is a compact crossover SUV offered in five trim levels: LX, Special Edition, EX, EX-L, and Touring. Standard exterior features on the LX trim include automatic halogen headlights, a remote entry system, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the Special Edition comes standard with remote engine start, remote keyless entry and ignition, and body-color side mirrors with matching door handles and a roofline spoiler.
In the middle of the pack, the EX comes with tinted rear windows, a sunroof, and larger 18-inch wheels. Choose the EX-L to get a power-operated and height-programmable lift gate. At the top of the list, the newly added Touring trim includes hands-free functionality for the lift gate, LED headlights, dual chrome exhaust finishers, 19-inch alloy wheels, and roof rails.
Engine (Power)
The 2022 CR-V comes equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet of torque. It works with a continuously variable transmission that sends power to the front wheels. Honda also offers a hybrid powertrain, which uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor. The combined output of the hybrid system is 212 horsepower.
Performance
If you opt for the standard engine in your SUV, you'll appreciate the responsiveness and quick acceleration. Whether you're commuting to work or taking children to and from school, you're sure to enjoy the refined ride delivered by the CR-V. Meanwhile, opting for the hybrid system boosts fuel efficiency without compromising on power or ride comfort. The Touring trim comes standard with Honda's all-wheel-drive system, while the lower four include front-wheel drive as standard and all-wheel drive as an option. All hybrid versions come with all-wheel drive.
Interior
When you climb into the cabin of the 2022 Honda CR-V, you'll find two spacious rows of seating and premium materials placed throughout. The design balances brushed-satin finishes with wood-inspired accents, creating an upscale feel, even in the lower trim levels. This compact crossover also delivers best-in-class cargo volume and space with its 60/40 split-folding rear seats. Standard comfort features on the LX include a manually adjustable driver's seat, automatic climate control, and cloth upholstery. It also includes a four-speaker audio system connected to a 5-inch display screen, Bluetooth connectivity, and a front USB port.
Stepping up to the Special Edition trim adds dual-zone automatic climate control and heated front seats, along with a six-speaker sound system, a 7-inch touch screen, and Android Auto/Apple CarPlay smartphone integration. With the EX trim, you get a cargo cover, USB ports in the rear seats, and a power-adjustable driver's seat. A few enhancements come standard on the EX-L, including leather upholstery and an upgraded sound system. The top Touring trim boasts wireless device charging and navigation.
Safety Features
All trim levels of the 2022 Honda CR-V come with an impressive suite of active driver aids. It bundles forward-collision mitigation, road departure mitigation, automatic high beams, lane departure warning with lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and a rearview camera. Blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert is available on the higher trims.
