Crossovers vs. SUVs
Families and individuals are now shopping for cars large enough to accommodate everyone and still have enough comfort. At Capitol City Honda, we constantly get asked the difference between crossovers and SUVs. Both are popular and relatively similar in many aspects.
What are the biggest differences?
SUVs are a truck-like vehicle, whereas the crossover can be compared to a car. The distinction is in the body composition of the vehicle.
You might hear the terms, “compact,” “midsize,” or “large” when shopping for SUVs. These terms are typically used to categorize the size of each vehicle according to their body structure. Traditional SUVs are great for those with large families or for hauling big things, such as boats or RVs.
Crossovers are a lot more common now, especially among single individuals. These are great due to the size, features, and price point they provide. Common crossovers are vehicles like the Honda HR-V or Honda CR-V.
Should you buy an SUV or a crossover?
Both are suitable for large families. The difference will be the body frame, power, and overall performance.
Consider all your needs to help you determine which better fits your driving necessities. We recommend asking yourself questions based on what you will use the vehicle for. For example, is fuel consumption important to you? Will you be off-roading? How much power are you looking for?
